He was shifted to Indo-American Cancer Hospital in Basavarkarma, Hyderabad, at 11.30am today. Senior doctors at the hospital said they tried to bring senior politicians to consciousness. An hour-long effort failed. After doctors declared him dead at 12 pm 39 minutes.

It is reported that the ex-speaker was hanged in his house. Upon seeing him, his close associates rushed him to the hospital for treatment. When all attempts to bring him back to consciousness failed, the doctors declared him to be abusive. His body was shifted from the hospital to the Osmania Hospital for post-mortem. Later, his body will be taken to his native district Guntur. Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao expressed deep grief over his death. Grieving members of the family expressed condolences.

Position BJP too grieved over his death. In his statement, Telangana BJP spokesperson Krishna Sagar Rao said his death was “tragic”.
